Time for Change: Renew or Be Forgotten?
Share
Greetings from the upholstery workshop!
Changes are still a hot topic ✨🌿
After my last blog, I kept wondering—who defines the threshold of transformation? For instance, take this small yet significant makeover of ottomans. The original piece no longer served its purpose—deemed untidy, uncomfortable, and outdated in style. Eventually, the family realized it had been hidden away, relegated to a bedroom corner under a pile of clothes.
Enter the upholsterer! New, stylish fabric, modern padding, and a fresh look transformed the ottomans. Now, they hold pride of place in the living room. Both the customer and I, the craftsman, are delighted. However, among upholsterers, you'll hear comments like, "This piece wasn't designed for that; traditional methods align with its original era."
What is the right choice? To grow, evolve, and adapt to the demands of the time, learning from the present and applying what best fits the situation and needs. Or to hold firmly onto the "good old days," risking decay, abandonment, and even ending up in the trash?
Ultimately, isn’t the right answer up to each individual?
