In Search of a Soulmate - Part 3 Twin Flame
Has your life perhaps been touched by, or have you previously encountered, a burning passion, an incomprehensible sense of belonging, a magnetic pull—something you simply cannot seem to let go of? You may very well have come across your twin flame. I’ll keep this one short, as there’s plenty of data available on this topic. So here’s briefly my own perspective and experience on it.
Negative Views All Over the Internet
Twin flames have a very dark history. I have never in my life come across a twin flame relationship that has lasted a lifetime. Of course, there are stories of such things deep within the internet. The name twin flame is quite fitting in that sense, because according to theories, the purpose of the twin flame is to purify you for your future soulmate. In other words, to burn away something old that you must let go of in order to continue your soul’s journey.
How Does a Twin Flame Differ from a Soulmate?
While your soulmate brings an incredible sense of peace into your life, a twin flame brings with them a burning and wrenching pull. If you have never experienced passion before, you will likely experience it now. Even irrationally so. With a soulmate, everything is well, the rush is over, and you have the rest of your lives ahead. With a twin flame, however, the feeling is likely the opposite, because they are like a mirror. You bring out in each other your very worst sides. Not so that you can destroy them in one another, but so that you can learn from them yourself.

From Experience
As I mentioned in my previous article, my worst trait has been impatience. So what was emphasized with my twin flame was hurry. Everything here, right now! Fortunately, no bystanders were harmed because of the relationship. I can only guess what the other person’s Achilles’ heel was. We never actually got to go over it afterwards. Which is also very typical for these kinds of relationships. They start quickly and end just as quickly. The aftermath is left for both to handle on their own.

I decided that I don’t want to discourage you. And I intend to stick to that decision! Everything mentioned above is, of course, true and for many even frightening. Despite that, a twin flame relationship can be a Heavenly gift. And that is the perspective I have chosen for myself. At best, both parties gain a new kind of courage from the relationship to be their authentic selves. When you are seen exactly as you are, even in your incompleteness, you have already won a great deal. I believe these couples can become lifelong partners when both are able to dismantle the bombs that rise within themselves. When I found my calm, I discovered an entirely new kind of person within myself. And within him.

When the Fuse Has Been Lit
If you have met such a person, recently or in the past, pause for a moment to think: what can I learn about myself? As mentioned, the common term for all twin flame experiences is explosive. The more painful the past, the greater the problem. So treat yourself and them with compassion. You are stepping into something great, probably without even knowing what it truly is.
